The best time for your child to have his/her initial orthodontic evaluation is between the ages of 8 and 9 years to evaluate whether his/her dental development is normal.
It is very important that children are treated at the right age to harness the growth to assist in correcting the problem and ensures a good result. If the incorrect treatment is applied during this time and the outcome is not acceptable then the opportunity to get the best result may be missed.
The adolescent growth spurt of girls and boys usually occur when the permanent teeth (excluding the wisdom teeth) erupt and coincidentally this is the time when most treatment is normally carried out (anywhere between the ages of 11 and 14 years). Sometimes, however, earlier treatment is necessary to prevent a more serious problem from developing (interceptive treatment).

Dear Dr J and team. Thank you for creating a perfect smile and bite. And that after 41 years. I dreaded orthodontic treatment, being an adult and all, but you made the process comfortable and worthwhile.

I just wanted to let you all know I’m engaged to the first guy I kissed with braces! I hope I’m a good story for all the adults who are hesitant about getting braces. Life changing I tell you.
Lots of love, Helen
