AboutMeet Dr J and the Team
Johan van den Berg qualified as a dentist at the University of Pretoria in 2001. In 2000 he won the Middelton-Shaw Colgate National Prize in the South African division of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR) for research done in Orthodontics.
He was in general dental practice for 8 years. Dr J completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Orthodontics (cum laude) in 2006 at the University of Pretoria. Dr J was a part-time lecturer in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Pretoria from August 2009 until December 2010. He qualified as a specialist Orthodontist (cum laude) in 2014.
Dr J has been teaching orthodontics from 2009 until 2021, where he served as a consultant between 2015 and 2021 at the University of Pretoria.
He is a member of the South African Dental Association, Eastern Tshwane Orthodontic Society (ETOS) and South African Society of Orthodontists (SASO) where he served on the Executive Committee from 2016 until 2021. He is also an international member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the World Federation of Orthodontists and the Golden Key International Honour Society. Dr J is a certified Invisalign specialist provider.
